ShowShifter software has been developed specifically for home use to further empower the PC as a home entertainment device.

Whilst other PC entertainment software packages use traditional desktop or 'lean forward' interfaces ShowShifter uses a distance-based or 'lean back', remote enabled interface allowing the PC to be just as convenient to use as traditional remote controlled home entertainment products, like a TV or VCR.

Unlike other software ShowShifter provides access to all forms of home entertainment through a single interface. With ShowShifter the user doesn't need to return to their desktop to open and close applications when switching between DVD, TV and CDs etc, dramatically increasing the convenience factor.

ShowShifter currently allows the user to watch, timeshift/pause and record TV, view an electronic program guide, watch DVDs and listen to CDs and Mp3s and view digital pictures. More new functionality is in development, and custom features can also be added as per OEM/partner request.
